Garden Grove Haulage – A Tribute to 20 years of success alex February 17, 2016 Haulage News & Media, Latest News In March of this year, Garden Grove Haulage took delivery of their Kenworth Legend T950, a limited edition truck customised as a tribute to Jim Carraill from his Son, Brad in celebration of 20 years of a successful family haulage business. Prior to the inception of Garden Grove in 1982 and in addition to running his farm, Jim Carraill operated an F86 Volvo around local quarries. Jim worked for himself, however whenever he got the chance, he would grab a load of product to keep at home, ready to supply landscaping materials to local yards. It was in 1984 when Delfin, in conjunction with the SA Government, announced the creation of ‘Golden Grove’, a state-of-the-art suburb in Adelaide’s north east, right on Jim Carraill’s back fence. This set the future course of the company and Garden Grove began to flourish. Garden Grove was ideally positioned for the new development and Jim’s son, Brad Carraill, could see the potential and need to set up an independent transport arm to service Golden Grove and its new residents. It was in 1996 when Brad officially started Garden Grove Haulage Pty Ltd. Brad is very proud of his fleet and the way they look. Garden Grove now has over 100 trucks, with 72 on country and linehaul duties. Today the fleet can be seen anywhere from Mt Gambier to Kununurra, Darwin and Townsville and everywhere in between. The combined Garden Grove group employs over 200 staff and runs everything from road trains through to mini-tippers. There are four allocators for the transport fleet, two compliance officers and a highly efficient administration team. The workshop employs eight people and runs a double shift.
